Anyone remember Bob Larkin?

I definitely do, anyway. He painted some great covers, mostly for collected editions, back in the '70s and '80s. So when it came time to figure out a cover for... something ANGEL-related, it seemed like a fun thing to pay tribute to his work. And artist David Messina did a great job capturing Bob's image but still making it his own. Now if only I'd say what this image was for...

Wonderful cover. Can't wait to find out what it's for! I'm not a fan of "Smile Time" at all, but "Shadow Puppets" really convinced me that puppets don't have to suck. Love Messina!

I'm a little bit of the opposite - I thought Smile Time was halfway decent, but I think all of this going back to the well in terms of puppetry (Masks, Shadow Puppets, this) takes away what made the episode enjoyable and makes it less so.

Even though Shadow Puppets WAS better than it had any right to be...

Any news on what this cover is for, exactly? I'm stoked to find out.
