Black Friday

In honor of today's supposedly bleak "Black Friday" post-Thanksgiving shopping outlook, I thought I'd run a scene that seems to reflect what some retailers are expecting to see today. The wraparound cover image is by the one and only Franco Urru, with colors by Fabio Mantovani, the art team on ANGEL 15-17. Franco's original b&w image is included below, too.

I saw the hero half of this in this months Previews along with a cover for Angel#18(Aftermath Part I).The cover for Angel #18 and the start of Angel:Aftermath shows Angel brandishing a sword and a cheetah roaring side by side next to him. They are both on the edge of a rooftop.

Eeeeeeeeeeee! Oh my God, that's amazing! Great job on both the art and (!) the colouring. I particularly love Angel and Gunn's fighting stances, Betta George, and Non clinging to the Loan Shark over yonder. *g*

Would have definitely been wallpaper-worthy if not for the Spike/Spider squick on the right. :P

Awesome. Just awesome. (I'll try to pretend I don't see Spider's tentacles around Spike!)

"and a cheetah roaring side by side next to him"

Oh, if only that were just a cheetah, it'd be so much easier for Angel...

Isn't this like the cover Urru did for issue #5. How lame!

"That's one crappy cover."

You got that right,mate.
I told 'em that at slayalive.

I was missing Urru's work so much.

Urru's work is bad. Go back to art school. You need it.

I'm so glad that people are starting to see how crappy Urru's work really is. I wrote a letter about this to IDW from day 1, but that ******* Chris didn't print my letter just because he didn't agree with it.
Yeah, Chris I don't care if you agree or disagree with it or no. Do your job by priting fans mails, and not only the ones you agree with. You don't see MARVEL or DC holding off on fans mail just because they disagree with them.
I read many fans who was unplease with the work.
If this problem was fix from day 1 we would have this crappy cover today. So, all-in-all this could had been prevented.

I missed Nick Runge's art. The two pages he did for issue #12 was amazing.

Hey, guys I'm Uncle Spike here with a few words about the cover for ANGEL After the Fall #17.
Let me start off by saying this isn't Franco Urru's fault. It's the dirty, rotten posters are slayalive.
We all enjoy Urru's awesome covers from the past, but posters at slayalive said that the covers are too spoilery. So, we wind up with this lame *** shit. Do you know why it "lame *** shit"? 'Cause it didn't come from Franco Urru's heart. It came from brainless zombies at slayalive.

See, I told Lynch that Urru should redo the cover, but Lynch said why should Urru redo the cover just because a few people don't like it.

Lynch, mate. Why should Franco Urru do an unspoilery cover just because a few people think the covers are spoilery?

Answer,Lynch. Got an answer for that. Guess not, because I'm right.
