The final issue of Steve Niles/Bernie Wrightson's THE GHOUL series is in stores on March 10, and I figured I'd show a page of art from the book in both b&w art and with colors by Tom Smith, and also a little bonus: a GHOUL pin-up that FALLEN ANGEL artist J.K. Woodward put up on his blog last week, too.

Your face on an IDW comic

Alan Robert's new series WIRE HANGERS debuts in April. And as a little bonus for fans -- or just anyone who wants to see their face on the cover of a comic -- Alan has put together a contest that will award one person just that -- their mug adorning the incentive cover for WIRE HANGERS #1.

My COMIC BOOKS 101 partner-in-crime Scott Tipton, who's also written a couple dozen ANGEL, STAR TREK and ASTRO BOY comics for IDW, is featured in a new interview with TrekWeb.com. In the interview, he discusses writing Trek comics and other things, but stays coy about his next series for us (well, next two). So I'll reveal just a bit more about the first one, being solicited for June release: it's called STAR TREK: BURDEN OF KNOWLEDGE, and it features, among others, the two cats pictured directly below (the image is by Michael Stribling, incidentally).

Tea-Batting

If only I'd known, I never would've changed the Teabagging reference in one of the protestors' signs to a mention of Batman. Somehow I thought a nod to a DC character would garner more attention for the book. So much for Bat Boy and I having our finger on the political zeitgeist.

The King's name is... Aroo?

Our newest Library of American Comics strip collection, KING AROO, is out next week. And chances are good that you're asking "what is King Aroo?" Rather than explain the strip or who the characters are or talk about its creator, Jack Kent, I figured I'd let the introduction in the book itself--from the inimitable Sergio Aragones--as well as the first strip, speak for itself.

(Incidentally, the book won't make it into East Coast comics shops next week due to a rather serious trucking accident that affects all 2/17 IDW titles in that region, but it'll be available everywhere else then and on the East Coast as soon as we can get more books into the pipeline).

Transformers: that's a wrap

This will likely get people talking -- since pretty much anything from Don Figueroa lately gets people talking. This is Don's wraparound cover for THE TRANSFORMERS #6, with colors by James Brown.

Risen Angel

Thanks to some graciousness on DC Comics' part--namely that of Paul Levitz and a few others, we're able to now collect the entirety of Peter David and David Lopez's 20-issue FALLEN ANGEL series. This is the original run, the final six issues of which have never been collected in any format since their original comic book release. We're collecting them all in our Omnibus format, so you'll get the entire run in one volume come this May.

Zombies vs Robors, on 2nd thought

The COMPLETE ZOMBIES VS ROBOTS trade paperback, featuring the stories Ash Wood and I did in the first two miniseries and in the short-lived D'AIRAIN AVENTURE series has been sold out and out of print for a while now. But that's going to change shortly--we're going back to press on it, with the above cover (not to be confused with the original oversize hardcover edition, which also had this same cover, but which was oversize and is also out of print, and only contained the first miniseries).

In other ZvR news, the first issue of the brand-new series, ZOMBIES VS ROBOTS AVENTURE, is finally in stores on February 17...
