New WHO

This news has already spread around the 'net this week, but for anyone who hasn't read it or seen the new Doctor yet, the BBC named their 11th Doctor Who this weekend -- 26-year-old Matt Smith. Who, despite being the youngest Doctor ever, clearly shows that he's got the hair necessary to take over for David Tennant. The obvious question here is which Doctor we'll use in the comics going forward, and the answer for now is Tennant's 10th Doctor. Smith will make his debut on the show and then after that, we'll see, but for now Tennant remains our guy (and my personal favorite of 'em all so far).

Glad to hear you'll be keeping the 10th doctor alive for a while longer. I'm looking forward to Templesmith's one shot. Already shaping up to be a good year for comics... time to get myself a second job.

Glad to hear that you'll keep Teenant's Doctor alive. He is my favorite too. Also gald to hear that here are plans for more Doctor Who comics after no mention in March solicitaions except for the Classic Doctor Who monthly issue.

The beeb have said that Tennant will remain in charge of the TARDIS until 2010 when he'll regenerate into Matt Smith's 11th Doctor (just before season five).

That gives us at least a year and then I'd be very surprised if IDW doesn't switch to the eleventh doctor despite what Chris or anyone says. I think all the excitement generated by the debut of a new doctor will be too much for IDW to resist.

That said I also agree that DT has been the best Doctor to date.

I shan't pass comment on Tennant's Doctor, beyond I think that he's a fantastic actor.

However, in defence of Smith - when he's the Doctor proper, he'll be no older then Davison when he took the role (about 29).

As for IDW's Who comics - MORE PLEASE they're brilliant.

No, you read me wrong, I'm not saying we wont ever do that, we just wouldn't do it before the TV show, for the people who've been asking me our plans.
