More Lockes, more Keys

Yesterday, we got the first advance copies of the new LOCKE & KEY hardcover, and it came out beautifully (witness the book as showcased by my robot spokesmodel):

The book hits stores on October 1, and it has me excited all over again for the coming next chapter in the series. LOCKE & KEY: HEAD GAMES, the next follow-up, debuts in January '09, and while it's a bit too soon to reveal any details on this one, I wanted to share the pencils for a 2-page spread in the first issue. Art by the inimitable Gabriel Rodriguez once again. Gabe said this is maybe the most challenging piece he's ever been asked to draw, and I think it's pretty obvious that's true. And also pretty obvious that he was up for the challenge.

Beautiful, beautiful volume. IDW has really gone all out with the collected editons, recently. You guys are seriously the best.

That spread is awesome. I both envy and pity the colorist on that book. :P

Gabriel Rodriguez is exceedingly talented. He's also a nice guy. [The model above is super sexy too -- may I have his/her email address -- or at least have a signed photograph?]. Kudos to IDW. Take a bow. This is gonna sell like hotcakes. You'll doing fine, Chris Ryall.

I read somewhere that Locke & Key will continue for a run of 24 issues. Does anyone know the plans for those 24 issues in collection format? One big book? One book for each 6 six issues?

24 issues plus a concluding standalone graphic novel, actually. The plans for the individual stories aren't set yet, but the next story, Head Games, will also be six issues.

Do we just get it a couple of days early? And are we getting the cover in your picture? It looks very pretty.

Is there a mailing list to join for IDW for upcoming items?

Yep, although the cover in that link isn't right, the cover will be the one I posted.

A new site is coming, and should have something like that.
